Matti Kon Cyber Security Predictions

Privacy vs. Security

March 26, 2016

On Saturday, March 26th, 2016, Matti Kon participated in a panel discussion on the debate between “Apple vs. FBI” or as known as the “Privacy vs. Security” debate. The discussion was broadcasted last week on Fresh Outlook via multiple national and international networks.

In the discussion, Matti Kon predicted and stated that:

  • Bringing this discussion public was completely unnecessary as this could have been resolved quietly behind closed doors since there was no real technological challenge here.
  • The government and FBI will end up getting the data from the iPhone with or without Apple’s help.
  • That this will not work out in the favor of Apple.

On Monday, March 28th, only 48 hours after the panel discussion, the FBI announced that they have broken into the iPhone without Apple’s help, and Matti Kon’s three point predictions became a reality.

The government and FBI will get their way. The iPhone will be, or probably has already been compromised.

In-Flight Hacking

May 18, 2015

On Monday, May 18th, 2015, Matti Kon was interviews by Julian Philips from Arise America (part of British BBC), about Chris Roberts, a hacker who was arrested by the FBI after claiming that he was able to gain control multiple times over passenger jet airplanes by manipulating them via the in-flight entertainment system. In the interview, Matti Kon claimed that it is an unrealistic scenario and it is most likely a fabrication.

Weeks later

Within weeks of Mr. Roberts’s arrest, The FBI confirmed it was a hoax, and once again, Matti Kon’s statements proved to be correct.
